The Boston Celtics have won the NBA Draft Lottery and will make the first pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. He continued to put the Sixers in good draft position throughout his tenure, dealing Michael Carter-Williams for a Lakers protected first round pick that could convey tonight.

Los Angeles entered Tuesday's lottery with only a 46.9 percent chance of keeping its pick.

You'll notice down there the one team who finished outside the bottom 10 who got the top pick: Orlando in 1993.

Heat general manager Andy Elisburg represented the team during the actual lottery drawing, which occured about an hour prior to ESPN's televised broadcast of the unveiling of the draft order.

Tonight could be a franchise altering evening for one National Basketball Association team as the 2017 Draft Lottery goes live from NY. The Celtics capitalized on a trade they made with the Brooklyn Nets four years ago. To get Jackson, who is projected as the No. 21 pick in Chad Ford's most recent mock draft, the Knicks likely would have to make a trade.

Pierce posted the tweet just after if was confirmed on national TV that the Celtics had, indeed, snared the No. 1 spot in June's draft.

This time, they had a 1.7 percent chance of getting the No. 1 overall pick, a 2 percent chance of having the second choice and a 2.4 percent chance of getting the third pick.

The Boston Celtics may be off to the Eastern Conference Finals after a Game 7 victory over the Washington Wizards Monday night, but that doesn't mean they won't have an eye on the lottery.

Technically there's still a chance for the Bulls to get that Kings pick. Eventually, the league expanded to 14 teams now part of the lottery.

The only way it could have shaken out worse would have been if two teams jumped the Magic instead of one, pushing them all the way down to 7th. Win or lose, the Celtics will be leaving their series against the Cavaliers with a much better idea of what this number one pick has to be if they want to reach their ultimate goal. However in 1997 the ping pong balls didn't fall the Celtics' way and the San Antonio Spurs got the top pick, which they used on Tim Duncan. Some of the best players of all time over the last 30 or so seasons were not taken first in their respective drafts.

Drafting fourth overall was actually the Suns' highest probability of any single pick at 31.9 percent. The Kings conveyed this pick back in 2011 to Cleveland, but gave it protections that lasted for five seasons. New Orleans traded the pick to Sacramento in the deal involving DeMarcus Cousins at the trade deadline.
