"No problem - elect Trump then impeach him".

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Donald Trump is preparing to go public with information about how previous year shaped his personal fortune, a White House official says.

"It's not normal, but nothing is normal with this administration", said Jon Reinish, Democratic strategist at SKDKnickerbocker. Sources close to Pence would also like you to know that "Pence was not consulted about the decision to bring on Flynn as the national security adviser in November".

"Rep. Cummings letter did not reach the vice president", the office said.

Pence filed paperwork with the Federal Elections Commission on Tuesday for the launch of Great America Committee, a federal leadership political action committee he will head.

Trump's other quandary is that the Republicans in the house and senate won't try to rescue him.

"President Trump made the right decision at the right time - to accept the recommendation of the deputy attorney general and the attorney general to ask for the termination; to support the termination of the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation was simply the right decision", Pence said. Pence reiterated those claims to reporters, saying again and again that the decision came only after Trump chose to "accept" and "support" Rosenstein's recommendations.

That explanation was nearly immediately undermined by the president, himself, who declared during an interview with Lester Holt that, as many suspected, he was going to fire Comey "regardless of [Rosenstein's] recommendation", and that "this Russian Federation thing" was front of mind when he ordered his dismissal.

"I'm not even going to give credence to that", House Speaker Paul Ryan of Wisconsin said Thursday, when asked by a reporter about colleagues who are privately contemplating a Pence presidency.

The White House denies this.

But the next day, the president said he had always meant to fire Comey, and requested Rosenstein's input only after the decision had been made.

"There are a lot of supporters of the vice president who wonder why he took this job in the first palace; and they're questioning whether or not he made a mistake", Christie said.

Pence insists that he didn't know Flynn was secretly lobbying for the Turkish government until it was publicly reported in March.

As vice president on March 9, 2017, Pence said that regarding stories about Flynn's lobbying for Turkey, "Hearing that story today was the first I'd heard of it". Then, so goes the rest of the story about Flynn getting fired for "lying" to Pence about his conversations with the Russian ambassador on the day Obama imposed sanctions on the adversarial nation.

Ayers chaired the vice president's bid in 2016 and Obst, a longtime top Pence aide, served as his director of operations during the vice presidential run a year ago. Mr. Pence has generously expended his political capital in the Washington establishment to defend his boss.

"The Vice President is playing a leading role in passing legislation on the Hill".

Pence is slated to deliver seven speeches over the next four days, including the Notre Dame commencement address this weekend.

"The general theory on having a leadership PACs is that it's good to have friends and even better to have friends that owe you favors, because you never know when you'll have to call them in", said Sheila Krumholz, executive director of the Center for Responsive Politics, which studies money in politics. In the wake of the firing of FBI Director James Comey and other recent events, impeachment has become a more realistic scenario than before, says Steffen Schmidt, a politics professor at Iowa State University, and many more Republicans are seeing "a much less risky Pence presidency as a real opportunity".
