First Alert: Heavy rain and thunderstorms may disrupt your weekend plans

Record heat possible today

This set up will allow temperatures to warm up a bit to the lower 70s for Sunday and into Monday as well. We wouldn't be surprised if the temperature dips into the upper 30s in some of the cooler areas, such as valleys in northwestern and northeastern parts of the state. Clouds will build ahead of a cold front to our west.

Dry air moved in Wednesday behind the line of storms that moved through early Wednesday morning. Scattered showers and t-storms may already be in place by the time we wake up on Sunday, with off-and-on rains likely to continue through much of the day. A cooling trend returns for next week with lower 70s for Monday and Tuesday, and upper 60s for Wednesday and Thursday. High: 83. Tuesday: Partly Sunny with showers possible.

Sunday - Showers and thunderstorms. Monday night, partly cloudy, with a low around 53. The high will be 81. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. Scattered showers and storms will likely form in the afternoon and early evening thanks to the sea breeze mergers well inland on Tuesday. Sunday's high will be 77 and the low 55. The high will again make it to 87, and skies will be cloudy with one or two storms in the afternoon. Cloudy, with a low around 55. Otherwise, partly sunny, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 85. The high will be 76, after a morning low of 62. Chance of precipitation is 70%. The high will be 78, after a morning low of 57.

A high risk of rip currents is in effect through at least Saturday for beaches in Palm Beach County through Miami-Dade County. Low: 66. High: 89. A cold front may bring us another shot at showers and storms Sunday and Memorial Day.
