Steve Kerr not ready to return to coach Warriors in NBA Finals

Jordan won six championships over the course of his career, right now James has just three. The first "threematch" - rematch of a rematch - in league history.

The former workout partners headline a long-anticipated Cavaliers-Warriors showdown in the 2017 NBA Finals, which open Thursday at Oracle Arena.

The Golden State Warriors will take on the Cleveland Cavaliers starting Thursday in Oakland. The Thunder found their rhythm and ran past the Spurs in the second round, then dominated the Warriors through the first four games of the conference finals, taking a 3-1 lead.

"I feel good about our chances", James said.

“Its just his level of calmness no matter whats going on, ” LeBron James said following practice.

They're 12-0, have won by an average margin of 16 points and have faced accusations of being so good that, as it relates to the health of their sport, they're actually bad.

"But none of that matters if you don't take care of your business", Jefferson said.

"Obviously, I mean, I've played against four Hall of Famers as well too with Manu (Ginobili), Kawhi (Leonard), Tony (Parker) and Timmy D (Tim Duncan) on the same team". So you have to appreciate it. ... It's like.we're in the NBA Finals.

Already, the back-and-forth is underway.

Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson alone are enough to give James' Cavaliers headaches in a best-of-seven series.

No team has been able to stop the Golden State Warriors so far in the postseason.

Golden State is -7 points for Thursday's Game 1 National Basketball Association match-up and they are listed at a surprising -260 to win the series. "We have to be ready for the challenge".

Five years ago, when LeBron and Durant met in the Finals, the stage was different.

"I had to get used to the attention", Durant told USA Today of his move to Golden State. And he finished things off in Game 7 by accumulating 27 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists, three blocks and two steals. "I think both teams will have a lot to prove and it's going to be a really hard-fought, great matchup".

Everything Kerr said is technically true. "They start moving without the ball".

While the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook has tipped Warriors as a -260 favourite, ESPN's basketball power index (BPI) reckons that Stephen Curry & Co. have a 93 percent chance of winning the series.

"He's one of the most competitive players in the league and he kind of spoke this into existence", Love said of Green's comments last fall.

In his first season with the Warriors, Durant averaged 25.1 points per game and shot 53.7 percent from the field in his most efficient scoring season ever.

The storylines are many.

The Miami Heat didn't finish with the best record in the East in 2013-2014, when it looked like the group around James was a step slower than before. Durant certainly wasn't the first player to seek an instant championship through free agency.

After the disastrous end to last season, the Warriors once again have their shot at redemption. The Heat won game 2, but that as far as they went, as the Spurs played close to ideal basketball. How will Cleveland try to contain Curry?

The 51-year-old admitted it is hard to not be coaching during the games after helping put together the game plan ahead of a third consecutive Finals matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
