Seven people were killed and at least 48 were taken to hospital.

The three attackers Saturday were wearing what appeared to be suicide belts, but the belts turned out to be fake.

London authorities are investigating reports that a vehicle has hit pedestrians on London Bridge.

A British Transport Police officer was in a stable condition after showing "enormous courage in the face of danger" as the attack unfolded Saturday night, Chief Constable Paul Crowther said. From there, they proceeded to Borough Market, where they stabbed people indiscriminately.

"We'd been told by the police what to do and we secured most of the people within the premises but by that time the three guys brandishing the weapons had already gone off to somewhere else". "He was being stabbed quite coldly and he slumped to the ground". "People running everywhere, police shouting to run away".

ISIS has claimed responsibility for Saturday's terror attack on London Bridge.

The national threat level was raised to maximum after the Manchester attack and troops were deployed at key public sites, but reduced to its second highest level last weekend.

The threats targeting Europe have been among the worst that American intelligence officials have seen in a decade, a USA government official told Fox News.

London will hold a vigil to honor the victims at 6 p.m. local time Monday in Potters Fields Park, Mayor Sadiq Khan's office announced Sunday. Police officers yelled at people to run from the area. Lifeboats on the River Thames helped evacuate the area. There is also worry that there will be more terror incidents during this holy month of Ramadan, when extremists have been encouraged to wreak havoc. Prime Minister Theresa May called an emergency security cabinet session Sunday to deal with the crisis. Proceeds will go to an emergency fund set up by the city of Manchester and the British Red Cross. Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne said in a tweet that Canadian hearts were heavy with the news of the violence in London. K., we will be there - WE ARE WITH YOU.

"These heinous and utterly barbaric acts are completely opposed to the teachings of Islam", president Bashir Khan said.

President Donald Trump said Sunday he will do whatever is necessary to protect the United States from a "vile enemy" that he says has waged war on innocents for too long, vowing: "This bloodshed must end, this bloodshed will end".

"For the first time, there has been a recognition right across the political spectrum, except within the Government, that there is actually a foreign policy connection in regard to these kinds of attacks that have occurred very recently", Mr Parmar said.

Only hours before, bursts of gunfire echoed through the streets - likely from armed police - and at least three blasts rang out as officers performed controlled explosions after sweeping the area for possible bombs.
